Red face question

I am in the process of swappin a h22a in my 93 2door lx using a manual I got online, goin good so far but a friend of mine stopped to check it out n asked why I couldnt just bolt a vtec head on the original block rather than pull the entire motor Im sure theres a reason, can anyone give me a come back so I can let my bud know why, this is my first swap so I am a rookie at this, thanx

The 93 accord did not have a vtec engine. The 94 was the first year.

The cylinder head from a 94 may not match up properly on the 93. You would have to compare head gaskets to figure out the difference.

Its not as simple as just bolting it on. The oil passages have to be machined, and work with the crank pulley has to be done. After all that its just about the same price to buy the H22, and it will make more power.
