Question about Struts, new tires, alignment...

Default Question about Struts, new tires, alignment...

93 accord ex coupe..............

i have new struts for the front and am getting 4 new tires....I am going to do the struts this weekend and then go put on the tires, I know it's going to need to be aligned, my question..............

if i do the rear struts next month, do i have to do another alignment???

Unless I'm missing something or unless the previous alignment was done with the struts bent or springs really sagging, I wouldn't think the alignment would be affected by the new struts. Upper and lower ball joints, radius rod bushings, control arm bushings and tie rod ends would have a much greater impact on alignment. I think struts would have to be in really bad shape to influence alignment.

i'm just aking, if i do all this work, get it aligned, and then do the rear struts, will i have to do a second alignment........I know i should just do it all at the same time, but due to budget constraints........

My alignment buddie here in Ohio said that you will need to realign the whole car again after you do the others..

I think the front struts on a 93 do not contribute to the alignment. If the control-arm balljoints are separated at their tapered studs (rather than other bolts), then the alignment shouldn't change.

Another suggestion is to wait a couple hundred miles for all the new parts to shake & settle. THEN get an alignment.

I think you 2nd suggestion is the best one..I concur after looking it up also..

I agree with what Jim said......do everything, allow it to settle, then get an alignment.
