Default radiator fan noise

Year and trim accord : 1994 lx

Your request for a DIY write up : the radiator fan ( left / when facing windshield) ; makes a rattling / shaking noise ; upon visual inspection ; it is wobbly ; Turning well ;

Any additional notes that need to be added : heats & cools well ;

Thanks

There is a nut that retains the fan blade. They can sometimes come loose and cause blade to wobble. Sooner/later the motor shaft will strip the fan blade slot and blade won't turn correctly.

Another explanation is fan motor bushings are worn/failing (less likely).

Best bet is to pull the fan assembly and see if blade retaining nut can be retightened to shaft and correctly hold the blade. If fan blade opening is wallowed out, you will need to replace either the fan blade or entire fan assy. Check ebay, rockauto for parts options. Not expensive.

You can temporarily operate w/o one fan until you get a replacement. Don't use AC except at highway speeds in this condition.

good luck
