Glad I found this topic.

The dealer called me earlier and said that I need new rear pads on my 06 Accord. I've got 20k on the car, and was pretty shocked by it.

My question is, if they only last that long, why would I want to put factory Honda pads on there? There must be some pad out there that lasts longer.

It is common in the 7th gen for that to occur. But luckily, my 4 banger's rear brakes have held up well. Since I bought the car new that could be a factor. The previous owner, like stated before in this thread, was probably a brake rider.

Wow. I replaced the front and rear pads on my 2000 at about 65K miles and they had plenty of wear left.

All improvement requires change, but not all change results in improvement...
