Default rear speakers not working

So I am a hardcore car guy and have installed many stereos...but this is weird. I replaced the blown speakers in the front and all four worked great. 2 news, and 2 stock rears. Dad decided the new front sounded so good he wanted the rears replaced as well. So I took the panels apart and pulled the speakers...unplugged them. We drove to walmart for the new speakers, I checked polarity and installed them. NO sound from the rear. Played with the fade and all. Since they were unplugged the wires couldnt have touched each other.

So front speakers work rears dont. Checked the speakers they do work...just no signal to the rear speakers.

Is there a reset on the deck? or has this 96 deck/cd unit blown the rear channels...

your input would be greatly appreciated. Id like to fix this for Dad before I head back to AZ. Thank you.

Not sure. Have you posted this in Audio/Visual section....there are some VERY good members there that are what I would consider "pro's" at this kind of thing......wish I had better advise.
