Default Removing Transponder from 2005 Accord Key FOB

I'm trying to transfer the electronics from an old and mangled keyfob to a new key housing. Does anyone have suggestions on how to remove the transponder? I took off the cap and was hoping it might just fall out but it didn't. I'm not sure fragile it is and I'd rather not destroy it.

Here's the fob style:

All help appreciated.

Wouldn't these have to be cut and coded through Honda?!

Default Not as bad as I thought

I did have to get the keyblade cut (which they did at the dealership for free). There was no need to do any reprogramming as I transferred the transponder which is just a small chip of sorts.

Getting the transponder out of my old housing was a royal pain as they glue it into the key pretty well. I ended up using some razor blades and cut around it and eventually removed the transponder. You can then just drop this in the new housing (I used some electrical tape to stabilize it so it wasn't loose and flying around all over the place) and there is no need to reprogram anything then.

The guy at the Honda dealer told me this wouldn't work. Total lie on his part.

So to fix a small piece of broken plastic they quoted me $150 since reprogramming was required. The job ended up costing me $15 for parts and about an hour of my time to remove that pesky transponder.
