Transponder key
I just bought a 2000 Accord LX from a Toyota dealer. The car only came with 1 key (black). I am wondering if Honda is as friendly as Ford in allowing you to program your own key (buy a blank on Ebay for 12 bucks) or does it have to be programmed at a dealer or locksmith? Also, is it OK to just get a regular key cut for the doors or do you need a transponder key for them to prevent the alarm from going off? Thanks for any advice.
