Replacing Steering Rack Boot
Hi again,
I'm planning on replacing one of the steering rack boots on my '94 LX MT this weekend. What kind of grease should I put on the inner tie rod when I remove the old boot? Will a multi-purpose grease work or do I need something special?
Also, any tips on how to perform the repair?
Thanks.

I used regular wheel bearing grease.
Remove tie-rod connection to knuckle, remove tie-rod, remove boot, grease, and install new boot. Reverse remaining items.
A ball joint lifter (see ebay, amazon) is necessary to avoid damaging tie-rod bj boot.
good luck
