Rough Idle when AC turned on
#11
I have heard that this issue issue can also be caused by too much pressure in the AC system or too much R134a in the system. To fix, you have to check your AC pressure with guages and make sure it is within spec - 25-45 psi ?
So oldman377 it looks like the issue of the vibration with the idle was caused by bad AC cooling fans?

First you have to convince yourself the vibration is coming from the fans, or coming from the compressor itself. Both things can potentially cause it.
Then look for the real cause, & fix whatever you find. People have reported problems with the fan motors, other people have fan blades hitting the shroud, and others have reported wobbly pulleys for the compressor. Personally, I've had a wobbly pulley (on a VW) and that vibration was not related at all to the fans.
