Default shifting problem

I have a 1991 Honda Accord LX. The transmission is not shifting automatically - I have to manually shift gears. We took it to a transmission specialist but he saidthe transmission was goodand suggested that the problem might be in the computer. The computer was replaced and the gears shifted perfectly during the test drive but the problem returned the next time the carwas driven. The mechanics who have looked atthe car
are scratchingtheir heads. Another symptom that is occurring along with the automatic shifting problem is inthe shifting lever. When the car is started, theleverlocks inpark and will not release without inserting thekey into the slot in the console. I don't know if the problems I've described are related. Can anyone shed light on them?
Thank you.

Default RE: shifting problem

The shift interlock problem could be the brake light switch.

Have you tried to check for trans codes by jumpering the Blue 2 pin connector and watching for "D4" light to flash?
