...anyhow - I just don't like people replacing the parts. 90% of the time they dont even need the part , I just wanted to hear the facts why this guy wants to replace the VSS.

Ok - the speed sensor is located under the thermostat housing.

It's not a hard job to replace it. Just have to be very careful.

the connector basically plugs in to the sensor itself so carefully disconnect the connector plug from the top of the sensor. There are 2 bolts that hold the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) in place.

Now remember when you gonna pull the sensor out there's gonna be a tiny piece that is called "drive link" it goes right inside. Make sure you catch it when you pull the speed sensor out because If you loose the drivelink you're screwed. It's a small piece and it's easy to loose it within the junk under the hood. (...and don't say I didn't warn you , kid)

that is basically how it is replaced, assemble it back same way in reverse - drivelink <--- Speed Sensor <----- bolts <--- connector.

enjoy!

P.S. make sure you really really need to replace the speed sensor - dealer won't take electrical parts back ...and you will buy the speed sensor from the dealer , won't you??
