SRS light is on my 2000 Honda Accord
The SRS light is on in my 2000 Honda Accord 2dr. EX. My mechanic checked and got a 09-3 faulty driver seatbelt buckle switch. When I called the dealer they said they would have to run their Honda codes they cannot accept anyothers. Now there is a sensor and a switch that could be bad. One is covered for free and one is not. I do not trust the dealer to tell me the truth because i'm sure they want to see cash and not do anythng for free. I saw a youtube video on a Civic replacing the buckle and the guy said it cost him $300 for the part. I saw the same part on an OEM Honda parts site for $56.00. What do you think and does anyone have suggestions, videos, or printed directions if i can replace it myself?

This fault is caused by a sticky microswitch. Some have fixed by merely exercising the switch w/ repeated insertion/removal of seat belt. However use of some contact cleaner and lubricant should improve the odds of a fix. If all else fails you can replace the latch assy w/ a new switch.

good luck
