SRS light remains on during driving on 97 wagon
It's inside the center console, below the radio, bolted to the floor. Really tight torx-head bolts holding it in place.
Suggest clearing the SRS code to see if it comes back:
An unbent paperclip works fine.
Good luck. As far as I can tell, wagons and only wagons have Takata SRS units, identified with "M3". Tough to find compared to sedan/coupe M2s & M1s.

Thanks to the excellent info found on this forum, I was able to fix the SRS issue.
I do have a question that's been bothering me.
If the SRS light is on, do the airbags disable? (I realize they won't work if the light is on because they're non-functional, but I read in several places that the light being on automatically disables the system)
