stalling+hard to restart
HI,
i have a 1992 accord exr.Ichanged the oil and replaced the distributor cap and rotor.Cap and rotor were aftermarket.
The carcranked over but refused to start.Checked wiring order(ok)and put old cap back.Car started right away.
Put the aftermarket cap back on,started but with difficulty.Re-installed old cap and rotor back.Since then the car
could drive 500 miles and no problem but as time goes by, the driving distance seems to shorten before it stalled and
harderto restart.(waiting period to finally start are longer).I noticed that the aftermarketrotor was "striking" the
inside "points" of the cap(gouged marks). Is it possible the "striking" caused damages to distributor assembly(shaft,
igniter, etc). If yes what i am looking for and test.Since theni replaced old cap and rotor with genuine honda parts
but withno improvement whatsoever.
thanks,andre
