Default Car dies, wont restart this time

I have a 94 Accord EX auto trans.

The car would sometimes die, but would restart a short time after and be completely fine. One day, if fired right up and instantly died, restarted instantly but died after enough time for me to get out of a parking spot. Car finally just started after about 2 hours of checking connections, but the D4 light was blinking...didnt care, wasnt going to shut if back off.

Well yesterday while driving down the highway it died, no warning. Tried the same thing as before with no luck. My co worker did some inspecting with me and found that there is a signal going to the coil, but no spark. Picked up another coil today and it didnt change anything.

Please help me out here. Is there something I can check easily (car is still on the side of the road) to pin-point or rule out things?

once I get the car home I can swap parts with the girlfriends car, same motor, trans, and ignition stlye.

Also, if the PCM is the issue can I just throw another one in without programming anything?

Since the D4 light is flashing you should read the error code for the tranny

So there is 12v going to the dist (correct) - coil on the BLK/YEL wire - but no spark...

"Sounding" like an issue with the ICM. There is some testing you can do - but not fun on the side of the road.
