Default Starter Problems

I'm having some issues with my car.
My issue is I would sometimes try to start my car but it just clicks and I have to turn the key again. Sometimes 3 or 4 times. Any suggestions? 1994 honda accord ex sedan vtec.

Sounds like a few possible issues.

Have the battery tested. Check the connections at the battery and the "other ends" of the cables to be sure they are clean and tight.

From here, do you have a volt meter to check the voltage reading on the small wire of the starter when someone tries to start the car?

the battery has been tested it they say it is fine. That's what I first suspected but I was informed it was probably the starter.

if it's just clicking at the starter everytime you try to start, until it does start once in a while, then it's a safe bet your starter is gone south.

This starter is repairable by installing new contacts in the solenoid relay. The contacts wear and cause too small contact to drive the starter, hence you only hear the solenoid click w/o starter movement.

Google "accord starter contacts" if you want to repair. You do need minimal soldering skill.

Otherwise starter replacement is the fix.

good luck
