Default Starting

So I have a quick question. I have a 1999 Ex, just over 100,000 miles. Lately it has been starting sporadicly. Most of the time it starts fine, but on hot days, it seems to have more problems. Any ideas as to what it might be?

When no start occurs, listen carefully to hear the fuel pump come on for 2-3 secs when keyswitch is turned to ON. It should come on for 2-3 secs and cut-off. If silence, then either Main Fuel Relay (MFR) or fuel pump is the cause of intermittent start.

If pump always comes on when keyswitch turns to ON and no-start, then ignition fault is indicated. Keyswitch assy is most likely, but could be intermittent coil or ignitor.

good luck

First, clarify how it doesn't start. Does the starter not run?

Or does the starter crank the engine but the engine doesn't start?

I will try that. Since most of the time it starts, i just have to wait for the time that it doesn't.
