Anyone have issues with their steering wheel popping in the telescopic plane about a 1/16"? I noticed mine kind of popping back and forth a little and I looked at the junction of the wheel with the column where it articulates and you can see it popping in and out just a little. And it is the wheel assembly only. The column stays put. I was thinking of pulling the wheel off and just checking it out, but figured I would post on here first and see if anyone has had that issue and fixed it first. That way if it was a part of some sort I would know more what to look for.

 

I don't recall reading much about loose accord steering wheels. Are you asking about play pulling the wheel towards you or pushing towards the dash?

 

Yep thats exactly it. Kinda pops in and out. Dont recall it doing that in times past.

 

I've been on this forum and this may be the first time I read of this problem. You would have to find the source of the movement. Maybe stop by a dealership with a 98-02 accord and see if that wheel shakes?
