Have you tried vise grips on the nut. Again a hammer will help break the nut loose.

It is a closed end nut and splitter may not work as well as on a open end nut.

I have had good results on rounded nuts/bolts w/ craftsman trouble sockets. They have spiral ridges that bite into the stripped nut. They are avaiable at sears stores. Make sure there is room enough for ratchet w/ socket. I know the frame is close by.

I think you'd have to butcher the lower timing cover in order to use that nut-splitter.

Got a set of these from craftsman, I will try it out tomorrow, oddly enough these nuts have very little flat surface for the socket to grip so I can see why someone earlier in the thread suggested grinding the socket flat a bit, well GOOD NEWS!! I got the new one today from the Honda Dealer and check it out below! Complete redesign from the stripped round top that I have to pull off..

Pulled the Cruise modual, motor mount and ps all out of the way, got vise grips on it and hammered it 2x broke it loose, Honda completely redesigned this nut as it was needed! CHECK OUT THE PICTURE OF NEW AND OLD SIDE BY SIDE!

That nut was a pain in my 95 Integra and that re-design would have been GREAT.
