Timing Belt Help
You should be able to twist the belt (on the long span at the front) only just 90-degrees.
It really does look like the belt is too long. Some combination of parts that you used for this R&R?
Waterpump has the same diameter pulley?
Idler pulley is the same diameter?
Is the "other end" of the idler-pulley-bracket hooked on the wrong place?

Everything looked exactly like what was already there. But its making the whining noise that the mechanic said was due to the tensioner being too tight. The engine runs fine as far as the timing goes. Aside from some coolant complications, I have a new thread about that. The brand of kit was "SuperAuto".
