It won't hurt to replace the thermostat. I suggest an OEM honda version. I don't consider the thermostat an maintenance item and would only personally replace if you have coolant temperature issues where the car takes forever to warm up to operating temp, or if it was stuck closed and overheats.
It really doesn't matter that you live in FL. The coolant temperature gets to around 200 °F, so a northern thermostat will see the same temps as a FL thermostat.
