TPMS Light at High Speeds
Hey everyone,
I have a 2010 V6 Accord Coupe and my issue is around the TPMS system. Like clockwork, every time I drive at highway speeds for about 15 minutes, the TPMS light will come on. Not to be confused with the low tire pressure light, the symbol which comes on for me is the one which spells TPMS and not the one that looks like a deflated tire.
After driving for an hour or so, or coming down from highway speeds, the light will eventually turn off, only to turn on again next time I'm on the highway.
The car is under warranty (certified used) and I brought it into the dealer at a time when the TPMS light was off, telling them the same thing as above. They couldn't do anything for me.
Has anyone ever run into this issue or have ideas on how to fix?
Thanks,
Peter

The TPMS indicator light coming on intermittently may be due to low or dying battery pack in one of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors.
Generally, if the TPMS indicator light came on, one or more Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be stored in the TPMS control unit. Even if the TPMS indicator light may go off, the DTCs should still be retained. Did the dealer try to scan for the trouble code(s) when you brought it in or did they just said they couldn't do anything because the light wasn't on?
Honda dealerships and some independent shops have handheld TPMS tools that can check for low batteries on TPMS sensors; Snap-on and ATEQ make such tools. Most dealerships should have the ATEQ handheld TPMS tool. The handheld ATEQ TPMS tool isn't used read the trouble code(s) stored in the TPMS control unit; but, can remotely indicate a low battery pack in a TPMS sensor.

Make sure you go to the Tires and Wheels forum and read about TPMS..
