Default tranny issue

ok so here the thing i have a 90 accord ex that i had the tranny replace do to the a repair shop saying it was gone. after replacing i'm have the same issue with the new one. but theres a twist i drove it thelast weekendafter is sat for sometime and it would only give me 1st and 2nd gears at about 3200 rpm. i thought it was a bit wried cause the last time it was 2nd and 3rd. so i figured i would give her another go on monday and i no longer had 1st gear but back the the 2nd and 3rd at about 3000 rpm. so i'm guessing it's not a tranny issue but something electrical? any sugestions??[sm=helpout.gif]

Is the S or Sport light flashing? This indicates trans electrical fault. Even if not (some codes don't cause S to flash), short the service check connector (under glove box, two wire connector) and obtain the flash code, either short single flashes for single digit code or long flash for ten's digit and short flash for unit's digit (F-P-ffff=14) for 2-digit code (10-11-14-15). There will be ~ 5 sec pause for repeat or additional codes.

Trans repair shop should have checked above before repairing your trans, but then they might not get an overhaul service. They should fix your problem, particularly if they charged you for an overhaul you likely didn't need.

good luck
