not quite sure if this is the right section, but i was wondering how hard it would be to swap my 88 auto over to a manual. there is a 92/93 in the wrecking yard with a manual, not sure if it's a 4 or 5 speed. do you need anything else like the computer? i wouldn't mind putting a fair amount of work into because i'm wanting to rebuild the engine too, so i may just buy the whole car and rebuild that engine and put it in all at once.

 

you cannot put a tranny from a 92 accord into a 88 accord engine .....the only one that would fit the 88 acc would be 86 -89 accord tranny

 

oh, ok. what are the differences? the engine in it is from a 92/93 so does it still have the 88 tranny or did they change it over too?

 

the 88 engine is 2.0 the 92 engine is 2.2 ....it is a totally different engine. an 88 tranny will not bolt up on a 92 accord engine , you need a tranny for a 90-93 accord

 

i did find out the accord at the yard is an 89 manual, so what would i need to do a tranny swap?

 

I have found out i have the A20A3 with the PGM FI, so what would i need to do the swap?
