Transmission Problem - 03 Accord

Transmission Problem - 03 Accord
I have an 03 Accord - 2.4 (4 cyl) auto trans with 104K mi. Had car for couple of months with no issues. One day, went to start car placed it in drive would not move. Placed it in reverse and car moved fine. Placed it back in drive car would not move (as if it was in park). Placed trans in neutral, car drove with no problems (gears shifted smooth). Stopped, placed trans in drive, still would not move. Engine light on, got the following codes:
P0721 - Output Speed Sensor range/performance
P0741 - Torque Converter Clutch Circuit performance or stuck off
P0752 - Shift Solenoid A stuck on
P0848 - Open in 3rd clutch trans. fluid pressure switch circuit, or 3rd clutch trans pressure switch stuck off.
Any suggestions on repair. I'm just a house mechanic (which is to say I'm no mechanic at all). I learn as I go. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm guessing I need a new Torque Converter and Solenoid Switch but that a BIG guess.

Just a guess here since my vehicles are older and I have no real experience with your year. Given that it worked in neutral, I would check the shift selector / cable / lever adjustment. You might be off by one detent. Maybe it's shift-by-wire by '03, but there still should be some way to adjust it. Also, with multiple codes, I would look for anything common with those codes and start there first. You'll need a manual.
A factory manual would help. There are troubleshooting flow charts in there. It seems like the older the car, the cheaper the manual (assuming it's still available). I got mine for $55 plus shipping for my '97 Accord, whereas my 2007 Toyota set me back nearly $600 when I bought it (2007).
I've gone down the road of following flowcharts and wasted hours, but I've found the hard way that checking the basics will often reveal the problem.

that's a tough one...if it drove fine in neutral and shifted normally i'm going to guess that the engine codes are due to the TCM reporting it's in neutral and the ecm is getting different info. try doing a drain and fill of the tranny, 3 quarts dealer fluid and ask them for a filter as well...they'll look at you crosseyed, but here's the part number. 25430-plr-003, it's on the top of the transmission and you can see it if you look down past the airbox, one hose in, one out. held in place with a bracket.
let us know what happens...

correction ^ the 98-02 auto transmission had issues. And it wasn't exclusive to the V6, the 4 Cyl had the same trans but less power so the problem was less prevalent early on. The 03 was supposedly better. This sounds like a shift cable issue.
