TROUBLE W/ENGINE OIL
I'M HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY 99 ACCORD IT SEEMS TO BE BURNING TOO MUCH OIL,
I CHANGE THE PCV VALVE, CHANGE THE VALVE COVER GASKET, AS WELL AS DOING A TUNE-UP TO THE CAR
I CHANGE THE V-TECH SOLENOID, BUT STILL THE SAME, I CHANGE THE OIL, AND ABOUT 1200 MILES LATER
THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON I CHECK THE LEVEL AND OF COURSE IT'S LOW IF ANY BODY HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS
PLZ LET ME KNOW. THANX EVERY BODY.
IT'S GOT THE F23A ENGINE,5 SPEEDAND THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN JAPAN IF THAT'S ANY HELP.

RE: TROUBLE W/ENGINE OIL
Have you checked for leaks from oil pressure light switch, oil drain plug, oil filter, oil pan?
Does the inside of the air intake duct downstream of PCV air inlet appear to be drenched in oil? If yes, the PCV is reverse flowing for some reason; blocked PCV hose, bad PCV, blocked PCV intake manifold opening.
Does engine smoke (blue oil smoke) during heavy throttle? This would suggest lack of oil control from rings. This could happen due to poor service history and hard driving.
If engine runs clean under load, do you notice a puff of oil smoke on pull-away after idling hot engine for a minute or so? Sometimes you may notice a slight puff-puff-puff of oil smoke at idle. This would indicate valve stem seals are leaking.
good luck
