Using battery with flipped terminals
Hi all,
My battery (Kirkland) doesn't seem to hold a full charge anymore, so I went to Costco to exchange it. Found out that they changed over to Interstate brand. My 1990 Honda Accord LX needs a group size 24, but they only carry the 24F that has the terminals flipped ( + - instead of - + ).
Would it be okay to just buy the 24F, turn it around so that the terminals are located on the proper side and install it that way. I remember having had to do that for one of my batteries once before. It's probably a stupid question, but I just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't be a problem.
Thanks!

No real critical functional problem, but there's 2 things to check...
I don't know if there's anything about the bottom of the battery that would prevent it from going into the tray in that orientation.
Then I expect you would struggle to get the cables attached across the battery. I never had a 1990 but I expect the cables don't have an extra inch to reach across to the posts that way. It's important to consider how the engine moves & shakes in it's mounts, during driving.

Just me and the too many years I've been in the automotive aftermarket - pushing 30 years now.
I'm surprised that the 24 would not be offered
if there is enough slack in the cable to make the 24F work.....go for it. again the only difference is the position of the terminals on the battery.
