valve cover gasket

RE: valve cover gasket
No tricks. Just use gasket sealer .... oh, 1 small trick, try to use a continuous bead of sealer, it works better that way. Also, you need to know how much to torque the bolts when putting them back on. If you are doing the valve cover gasket, you should do the spark plug tubes at the same time.

RE: valve cover gasket
The holesfor the spark plugs have their own little round gaskets, physically separate from the outer rim of the valve cover. Most of the time a VC gasket "set" comes with all of that and the little rubber grommets & washers for the bolts too.
I put a Fel-Pro brand valve cover gasket on a '92, it was a bit oversized. I had a bit of a handful keeping that gasket from bulging out at one place or another as I set the valve cover into place. Butit wasn't that bad - ittook less time than going to return it & then driving to a dealer. And it didn't leak...
I forget the bolt torque, but I guess they're pretty easy to break. So look it up.
