Default Valve Job?

I have a 92 accord lx 2.2 man trans. I bought the car with 182K on it and am now up to 207k after a year of harsh driving. I've noticed it doesn't start as good as it used to when its cold, and that my gas mileage has dropped from 32mpg to 26mpg. This could be due to the cold and the long warm-up time, but i still got a solid 30mpg last winter. The car seems as responsive as it was the day i bought it.

I know the car has never had a valve job and was just wondering if it could use one after all those miles.

It sure could...

If you're lucky, you (or the mechanic) will measure the valve clearances & find they're all good.

When is the last time you changed your plugs? I noticed a drop in MPG from about 31 to 27 a while back. I changed my plugs and it's back to 31 again. I knew it was time for a plug change though. Only use NGK. If you want the plugs to last 100k miles or more, buy the PZFR5F-11. they will run you about $10 each though. I got them for under $10 at Advange Auto Parts.

Speaking of plugs, what work have you done to the car recently and when did you do it? Might just be time for a FULL tune-up and fluids change...

^ x2. If not any maintenance has been done in a while, if I were you I'd change plugs, cap, rotor, check the plug wires for arcing or damage, change oil, trans fluid, radiator flush, and possibly brake fluid, clutch fluid, power steering fluid. And get a new PCV valve (many people forget about that one).
Has the car had a timing belt job recently? If not you need to: change timing belt(every 90k on your year model), water pump, drive belts, and all the oil seals. Also check the tensionerswhile you're in there. If in doubt, replace.
