Getting the code will help direct your diagnosis. Stop by a parts store and have them scan for codes. Then post the actual code(s) on here. They start with the letter P and have four numbers, like P1234.

Are there any other codes, ABS, MIL stored at the same time?

A simple check would be to check the connector at the VSA unit and be sure is fully seated and there are not any bent or dirty pins.
