Default water valve leaking

On my 92 Accord I'd been mysteriously losing some coolant so borrowed a pressure tester for the cooling system and then discovered which is apparently and almost certainly coming from this "water valve assembly" as shown here, part #1. Honda Automotive Parts
The hoses going and from it are in good shape and the connections are good, but seems to be leaking from the plastic seam at the square bottom part of this valve. Ever heard of these deciding to leak, or does this seem like a freaky and unusual occurance? Anyways, I'll be taking it off to inspect it and the hoses closer, and probably end up having to get a new one of these valves I guess. Any comments appreciated. thanks

if it makes you feel better, they all leak at some point in their lives. they are easily had and easy to replace.

After further closer investigation, it seems the leak was actually coming from the hose connection at the inlet side of the valve. I had recently replaced that particular hose with a 3/4" size, which is slightly bigger in size than the Honda stock size hose, and that just doesn't clamp down good enough to make the watertight seal over that valve nipple with the cooling system up to pressure.
