windshield wiper and power windows problem in Accord 01
I've been having issues with wipers going off automatically when cold, but today the power lock is not working and when locking the door either via key or the power lock, it keeps unlocking itself.
Is there a way to get around this?
I am able to get to the driver's side fusebox and don't see one for locks.
Also any idea what the issue may be ? First the wipers are going off automatically then the power locks don't lock. Are these 2 problems related?
Thanks for any help!

On some years Honda (not sure about your year), if the driver's door lock actuator is bad, it can cause issues with locking the passenger doors, etc.
Try pulling Fuse No. 12 (20A) from the passenger side fuse box.
The wipers, power door locks, and power windows are all part of a multiplex control system. Your car has a (1) driver's door multiplex control unit (mcu) (located on driver's door), (2) driver's side multiplex control unit (located on the driver's side fuse/relay box), and (3) passenger side multiplex control unit (located on the passenger's side fuse/relay box).
Windows and door locks together may be an issue with the driver's door mcu and/or one of the other mcu's.
The wiper issue, if the wiper speed runs by itself at intermittent, possibly point toward the driver's side mcu located in the fuse/relay box. Which is why I previously asked "When the wipers run by themselves, is it running at the regular low speed, high speed, or intermittent?"
It is also possible a door lock actuator just went bad recently.

Thanks for replying. The wipers ran by themselves this afternoon and were at regular speed (middle). It was annoying so I pulled out the wiper fuse and that stopped it.
however, I had no way of avoiding the door staying unlocked issue. I will try the fuse if it exists. This is a 2001 LX (4 cylinder) accord.
Both problems wrt to doors/wipers happened earlier but were intermittent. Today being colder than usual, it was continuously happening. Not sure why actuator/MCU is weather dependent. The temps today were from 20-40 F which is cold for GA.
Thanks for the replies. Blessings.

You would open the car door to remove the cover for the interior fuse box to access the fuses (see images).
Since the wipers run by themselves at a speed other than intermittent, the wiper issue may not be due to the driver's side mcu. It may possibly be due to the combination wiper switch contacts closing and receiving a ground (-) source when it is not suppose to. The way the wipers works is that when the ignition is ON or in Start, the wiper motor already receives power (+), it just needs the ground (-) source through the wiper switch. Normally, when you turn on the wipers, then the ground (-) go through the wiper switch (with the exception of intermittent) to the wiper motor to make it run.

Thanks for detailed info. Guess what?
The car sits on the driveway and today is a much warmer day (50s) and just now power locks are starting to work again. I am not going to take to dealer/shop b/c they keep saying that they need to duplicate issue.
Has anyone else had anything similar to this? This is rather baffling.
if the actuator was truly bad, then the issue would happen all the time, right?
Thanks for inputs!
