wiper motor

Jim I'm Back and guess what. your wrong the wiper motor is still working. the small contact set inside the motor assy is there for a very good reason they are built with a bi-metal spring which expands and contracts when the motor gets overheated, like if the blades get stuck to the screen with ice. and then the contacts will open up and stop any power/voltage going to the brushes which saves the motor being burnt out when the the motor cools back down again the contacts re connect and back in business.

AHH, so the thermal-limiter function is integrated into the brush assembly. I didn't realize that.
