Default Wipers issues

Hi
My car is 2004 Honda Accord EX 2.4 L Engine 4 doors. I have a problem with the windshield wipers. When I operate the wipers, they either touch the metal on the side of the windshield or the bottom of the windshield and sometimes they touch both. Is there a way to adjust the motion of the wipers and reduce the angle they rotate? I tried to open the nut and adjust the arm of the wipers but it keeps touching either edges.
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.

Thanks
Bassam

Perhaps the windshield wipers that you have on currently are not the right size or fit for your Honda?

Sounds like you've already ruled out a loose nut holding the wiper arm to the little stub shaft.

After that, you have to look at the linkage under the cowling - see the picture. The wipers are operated by cranks & pushrods like #10 & #11. Those pushrods have bushings in each end, and when those get loose the wiper arm isn't well controlled. It moves beyond it's intended travel on both sides.

You'll have to look around to find which one or more are loose. One or both of those rods have to be replaced. (I don't think the bushings are available separately)

Yup, had that issue with my 99 Accord. The bushing on the long link arm wore out. I ended getting a wiper transmission from Rock Auto after pricing out the bushings and link rods from Honda (it was cheaper to get the entire assembly).

Find the part numbers for the rods on a Honda parts website, then google those part numbers. The most difficult part is getting the cowl off, without breaking anything. Getting the linkage out and changing the rods is simple enough. I bought the two new rods for my 03 Accord from Amazon.
