Won't shift out from park

wait that would make the switch work all the time. disregard the previous post I made.
you could test the switch with an ohm meter before you buy a new one

ok cool i just bought a brake light switch put it in and it works but now the cruise control doesnt work ( not a big deal) but thanks for all the help guys greatly appreciated

yes and I can shift out of park with having to put the key in the shift lock

For the cruise control, maybe you have to tweak the position of that switch.
