worsening starter problem
hey guys...my 96 accord is having a problem with starting. after the engine gets hot, if I turn the car off and go to turn it back on, I get nothing. all the accessories have power, but the starter won't crank. After the engine gts time to cool down, it starts up without issue. this happened last summer as well, but faded away as summer ended and the outdoor temps began to fall.
I looked into having the starter rebuilt, and I'm told that because this style of starter has a thin heat shield, it wouldn't help with the heat issue.
has anyone had this issue before? I'm kinda stumped, would rebuilding the starter help by replacing worn parts with new ones? it passed a load test at autozone.

The way this forum is structured, this type of question would get more and better response in the General Tech Help section.
You may have a hot start problem related to something else, like the Main Relay or igniter.
Replacing certain starter parts wouldn't hurt; but, your problem may not be starter related.
