These don't sound like valid messages actually coming from one of us moderators. Besides, how would we be able to see viruses on your computer.

Angelo,
Do you know about any way for a normal user to send PMs that are spoofed to look like they come from those? No user-names match those. I hope that if anyone wants to sign up with a new username like that, it wouldn't be allowed.
It's the member who clicks on the link or whatever by being curious that becomes a carrier for the people like Board_Admin that links on to his post and comes back in using the members IP address.
As I said before if it looks suspious-leave it alone and let one of the mods or me know about it..

For the record, if this happens to anyone else and you don't have an anti virus, you can download a free one month trial of Avast anti virus. It's a great program all around. For one month you'll not only get the scanner, but it will quarantine malware for you. I've used it in the past before I got McAfee. (Only reason I got McAfee over Avast is because my ISP put it on the computer for free)

I've used a few:
Avast
Avira
NOD32
McAfee
Norton

Having a hard time deciding which is better because they all seem to work.

I've tried AVG, Norton, McAfee, and Avast. I've read a lot of reviews on other programs.

From what I've gathered, the problem with some of the programs is that they work too hard to keep your computer safe and sometimes they give you "false positives", telling you that a safe file is infected.

And then, of course, some of the programs aren't updated to detect the latest Malware. All of the recognized programs are updated regularly, but some might be over zealous. McAfee is supposed to have this problem, but I haven't seen it happen yet.

They're lies. Don't click ANYTHING in the PM. Delete the PM, delete all cookies, and restart your browser.

It's just trying to scare you into clicking the link. As soon as you click that link, the THREAT will become a reality and you will have a virus.

I mean, think of it realistically. If this forum had a virus scanner, it would've been made known to everyone by a MOD or ADMIN. Not by some new poster.
