Default CARB

Can someone tell me whta this is? And where this is in effect? I live in Canada and have never heard of this, but maybe it does exist here just not to my knowledge. Please tell me as I am considering modifying my car moreso.

Thanks!

CARB is only in the US and will not affect you in the Great White North, eh. Certainly you have your own emission laws to deal with though.
CARB is California Air Resources Board.

some states regulate the pollution outputted by cars.. for example, i live in california where our standards for CARB rated modifications are high... basically, if i wanted to do things the legal way, i would have to buy mods that are "CARB" approved... these rules are different for each state... for example, i know florida is really chill about their regulations... if you go to get your car smogged in california and they see an aftermarket cold air intake without a CARB sticker on it then they wont smog it or if you get pulled over by a cop and they ask to pop your hood and they see no carb sticker on it, they'll either give you a fix it ticket, tell you to see the state ref to have it tested, or straight up impound your car if they see your being pulled over frequently...

Not quite as strict but the same here in Texas when it comes up for the annual inspection. For instance, I have an AEM short ram intakeand aDC Sport exhaust header (4 cylinder). Neither would pass inspection unless they were CARB exempt (which they are) and a sticker shows that they are. Both stickers are beneath the hood to serve as proof. I doubt you will have to be concerned with such crap but I don't know that positively.
Check into your emissions laws concerning modifications.
