How exactly does that kit work? I have been wondering if it helps at all.

is a purge kit necessary?

Cj
No, it is only for show. When you hit a button a blast of what looks like fog/steam will shoot out of whever you place the jets. It just looks awesome! They use it in 2 Fast 2 Furious when you see the white smoke/fog shoot out from the fenders.

It's not all for show. You can choose between 3 different setups.1. Purge System2. Cold air system 3. Intercooler system

--The purge kit (which I have) shoots Co2 out of a single or dual jets (I have dual jets). This setupdoesn't help your performance, it just looks cool and makes people think you have NOS.

--The cold air intake kit uses the same method exceptthe jets are placed directly into your air intake tube. When you hit the (magic) button, the ice cold Co2gives you a boost of power (similar to NOS)(I've heard up to20 HP of instant power)that doesn't put strain on your engine like nitrous.

--The intercooler setup works similar. There is a bar that mounts in frontof the intercooler that sprays the Co2 onto the intercooler giving an instant boost of power.

Here is a link to the website if u need more info - http://www.designengineering.com/index.asp

Nice trunk setup with 2 Co2 tanks

on some engines such as J30a series, messing with the cat can result in a LOSS of lower end torque. On a TL/CL type S there is very little to be gained by replacing the stock exhaust system, however put some headers on each engine and you will get 20-30 hp respectively

I have a 2004 EX coupe 4Cyl, and i recently got my tax return. So the money I get is going entirely into my car by way of headers and exhaust. So i guess my question is what are the real HP gains? Because i dont want to waste my money on something like this and not get noticable gains. Also would a high flow cat help any?

People have been content with the Tsudo N1 Catback sold on Ebay. I went cheap with an OBX muffler, its a dull roar at around 50-60 mph....its pretty sweet. And it doesn't sound ricey tinny noise.

However, I may just spend the $228 dollars on the Tsudo N1...
