Default Installing the Cold Air is a bitch...

So I was installing my AEM cold air intake this past weekend and things were going pretty smooth. Other than a couple rusty bolts (It's a '91 Accord EX-R), things were coming off smoothly and I was optimistic that I could finish in under an hour. Tthen I ran into THE problem. It turns out that the stock hole that allows the factory intake to pass through the body to the bumper is is only about 2.5 inches at most in diameter. I had read in the instructions (yes believe it or not I read the instructions) and it warned of having to use power tools, but this is ridiculous!

I now have to get a dremel off of someone to widen the hole to 3 by 5 inches! I ended up just throwing on the stock rubber tube and placing the AEM filter on the end so at the moment I'm running a ghetto short ram with an expensive filter. What a bitch.

That sucks... I guess that's why they call it "Moding"... I would just take the AEM, put it over the existing hole and draw a line around it with a black marker then widen it just slightly wider than that... Then if you want it to look real nice get a piece of rubber tubing and split it down one side and press it on around the metal cut out...

heh, I burned out like 7 dremel bits doing the same operation. Make sure you use the right bits! I think I ended up using a hole saw...
