Default Question about intake.

Hi guys I am ordering an aem short ram intake for my 1999 accord ex v6 next week i already looked at everything in my car that i need to take out and it should be pretty easy but my question is the air resonator? people say its not nesseary to take it out but if i did take it out would it give more air flow and power to the intake? some people that have taken it out said they did get more airflow I just wanted to know what you all think, should i take it out? and if i take it out do i just take off the cover thing above the tire and take the tire off and just pull it out after i loosen it? thanks for all the help.

IMO, you should take it off. First, it quiets the intake, second, it does in fact block the air a bit. also, you have no warranty to worry about, so you are good on that. But in my car, the whole air box just pulls off and all that is left of the original system is the first resonator tube track.(incl the resonator i believe). All this does is nothing. the cone filters on intakes have 360 degrees of suction, and the stock resonator tube takes up only 20 degrees of that maybe, and it doesnt even form a seal. so, thats why I left it on, its easier and its better for warranty. but in your case takiung it off would be better or weight distribution as well.
