Default Sensor for Air Intake - Check Engine Problems

Looking to put in a after market ram intake on my 04 accord lx but when I disconnect the sensor my check engine comes on. Any way to get past this?

yeah put the new short ram in.. hook up everything properly, then simply reset the CEL by disconnecting the battery for a minute from the car..

Thanks for the reply, so do I take out the old intake manifold like I normally would and unscrew that sensor piece and then leave it just dangling? I've never really had to deal with sensors. Also I'm thinking about the weapon R dragon air. What do you think?

So there is a sensor on your stock intake that is not on the aftermarket one? It really has to be there, or you are going to get a CEL.

Well, as far as what you're talking about there should be a little hole on the new intake that you get.. It may be plugged with something plastic, remove the thing, there'll be a hole and hook up the sensor into the hole..

And beginning in 2003 with non-volatile memory, you can't reset your ECU by pulling a fuse or disconnecting the battery.
