if you have cold air intake there is not much you can do to prevent hydrolock without bypass. you could custom make some kind of splash guard but that would also block the air. there is much debate on this topic and i have done much research and found that a cai with a bypass will be about 250 while a sri that doesnt need a bypass will be 130. if you want to pay 120 more for a couple extra horses thats your decision. your right about the v2, it is thebest intake system you can get, but it is 340 and you cant put a bypass on it. i know many people who have cai without bypass and have not hydrolocked their engine driving in rainy conditions but if your like me you still cant trust it. all you can do is research and then make a decision. mine is to go with an aem sri. good luck.

the hp gains on both are highly debatable based on length, diameter and type of material used in the piping. for a daily driver, i recommend a short ram, nonmetal, with 3" diameter piping. also look for the least angles in the curves.

You're not gonna hydrolock unless you practically submerge the entire filter in water. I used to have a CAI and one time I got it completely wet driving through the rain and puddles and never had a problem.
