06 Honda Civic coupe trunk latch won’t open with master key
I have a 2006 Honda Civic where the trunk latch will not open with the master key trunk release button and am curious if it needs a new latch. When you press the button you do not hear or see the clicking. Please help
With no sounds at all, it could still be a wiring problem between the remote-receiver & the latch. I don't know what pins are supposed to be energized in that electrical connector to trigger the latch.

so would it be best to just buy a new latch with the wiring?
No, because that won't get you all the wiring all the way back to the remote receiver. That's the car's wiring harness.
I'm sure the shop manual troubleshooting will include continuity tests between the latch & the receiver, as well as checking whether any of the wires are shorted to ground. The shop manual will then tell you to replace the car's wiring harness. But in the DIY world, that means find the short or open, and fix it by repairing the insulation or splicing the broken wire.
