1991 Honda Accord ex; f22a1
Hey guys,
I just made this today and I have a few questions. First things first, I just got this car in late December and here's what I know.
downfalls
I know that it has been in 7 accidents, front passenger wheel housing and body assembly is being replaced; I'm doing it as my college final for my mig welding. The front bulk head assembly is being replaced; I'm doing that too. Steering is shot but still operational, calipers are shot; got some new ones out of a junk yard and ganna see if they work. I got new steering knuckles and parts from the yard; going to fine tune them up. Valve cover gasket is shot; the old owners put form a gasket to try and stop the leak and front window has cracks in it. Interior is shot. Leaky exhaust, someone cut the a/c lines and I need to rebuild all the engine wiring harness. Rear motor mount needs to be replaced.
Upword
Engine is prime, just need the valve gasket and it's good. No ring damage, all parts are present. It was in the middle of being gutting inside the car just need to secure stuff. There's no stereo, all wiring is there. Interior wiring harness is good, the rest of the body and frame are straight. Back window is good, trunk closes but let's water in, three out of the four motor/trans mount is good for now, already has aftermarket exhaust (2in pipe, duel exhaust tips and all four original size 14 steel rims), just the driver's door doesn't have a window, heater works, sport mode works very well, and I am using it as a project car to do all my finals on with getting my automotive degree.
thoughts
I need to know a few things, what oversized piston heads can I put into it? I know I can go a max of 0.04mm oversized but what size can the f22a1 handel?
I have the MPXA auto trans but I want to upgrade it to a 5 spreed manual, with me tuning it up and doing what I want to; what one would someone recommend.
I'd like to boost it but idk if I should because of the oversizing, I plan on fly cutting my piston heads and having it be a non interface engine. I plan on doing ALOT to it.
This is my dream car and this model is the one I've always wanted. I need help because I don't know stuff like deck height, cylinder volume, how to choose the right kind of compression ratio, if I need to upgrade the cylinder head to a vtec or if I can keep the non vtec on it. I plan on getting all after market parts as well so I'm trying to figure out a roadmap.
