Default 1999 Accord LX Coupe

Hi, i have really been looking at these cars because i reallly like them...i recently found one at a car dealership...i was able to tlk him down a little under $6500...i was really looking to pay no more than $6000 for a car....i was just wondering what you all thought about it...if the car was worth the little extra money or should i continue to fight for my budget?...the car had 160k miles on it already, but there was absolutely nothing wrong w/ it from what i could tell...and it's a one owner that got it maintenanced at that dealership since '02 or '03...so they had all of the records...so what do u think?

Probably a bad price.... I got a 1999 Accord LX Sedan 5spd with 168k for $4,700 and I KNOW I overpaid for the car. You should be able to get a newer generation Accord or a lower mileage 6th gen for that much money, and if it has an auto tranny I'd would walk away from that deal. Not the best feeling after spending $6.5k on a car with a 50% auto tranny failure rate.

Definitely a bad price. I paid $5,500 in December of 2006 for my 2000 LX 5spd with 104k on it and nothing wrong with it at all.
If it is an automatic, I would walk away just as Finch said. 50% failure rate FTL
