Default Got my first car.

Hello im 17 and i got my first car a 1996 honda accord 2.2l with manual tranny.

I know the older honda's have some problems and i was hoping i can get tips and tricks to keep it running as long as i can for as cheap as i can.

my car has about 250,000 miles on it but it doesn't run like it at all. i took it to a shop and they said everything is good on the car. i ran a car fax on it and it said not actual mileage? the mileage counter seems like it counts really fast could it be it actually has less miles on it?

Keeping a car running long for cheap is gonna cost you money. Makes sense right? Haha it actually does though!

Change oil every 3,000 miles
Change coolant every 30,000 miles
Change brake fluid every 4-5 years
Check all your belts and hoses occasionally

Doing all of these will keep your car running strong!

Oh, and welcome to the forums!

(here is a little novle) another thing you can do that some people over look is the spark plugs/wires as well as air filter, i just bought a 1998 honda accord with 207,000 and it ran like *&^% looked at the spark plug/wires they were almost worn completly down (as in never changed) once those were replaced she runs like a champ, not to mention the airfilter are usually white but mine was almost black with dirt build up.
