How's it going?
Hi there,
I was searching through tech archives here (getting sick of driveline lash, so I want to change a motor mount), and decided I should join the forum.
About me: I'm 25, sort of a veteran of car forums (9 yrs), like cars and mountain bikes and rock concerts and audio stuff. I'm a mechanical engineer that works in the R&D/design proving department of a cellphone company.
The car: I have a 2001 Accord EX. It's a 4-door, that grey-with-purple-hint colour with a 5-speed and all the options. Had it two years as of next month. I like it a lot... well, hesitate to say I love it, but it's very nice. After spending my youth with an '85 Civic and a very loud and beat-up NX2000, it's nice to have a nice car. Mine is nice too - I'm at 96,000 kms (60,000 mi) and everything's good with it. For a plebian car it's quite good - I can get rubber on the 1-2, the suspension's good and it was lots of fun in the backroads of British Columbia (saw 190 one stretch!). Now if I could get rid of the valve noise and driveline lash...
The 'plan' (read: pipe dream) is to either accept that I drive a 4-cyl Honda and get a sportbike (VFR!) or a sportscar (RX-7 Turbo II), or to replace it with a used BMW 3-series or a Cadillac CTS-V at some point.
Do any of you have sweet cars tucked away? Are you mountain bikers or rock fans?
