Default New to Hondas....

Hey everybody,

I'm new to Hondas, and these forums obviously, but I'm thinking about replacing my thoroughly beat up old '88 Ford Taurus with a new Accord. I love my current car, but the attention that I get isn't exactly the attention that I want, lol.

So, I was looking on a site for a dealer that lives near where I live, and I found this page that has all the information about the packages that I can get for the different accord models: http://www.crownhonda.com/honda_car_...ord_coupe.html

I was looking at the Accord Coupe EX-L V-6, and I fell in love. [sm=drooldude.gif] Decent looks, decent power, moon roof, 6 disc CD changer, what more could I want? However, being the financially careful person that I am, (how else could I afford an '07 Accord while driving an '88 Taurus, eh?) I decided to see what my car-savvy friend knows about them. Unfortunately, he didn't know much at all, but he did refer me to this site, and a couple of others, so I'm curious to know what you all think about it.

Are there any major bugs or problems that I should be aware of? Any consistent flaws? Any suggestions for making it look hotter than it already does? [sm=smiley1.gif] Lemme know!

Thanks!

7th gen accords are more reliable than the previous generation (1998-2002) but they appear to suffer from the SAME transmission problems (although to a lesser degree) as the Acura cars with V6 and 5spd autos (all cars up to 2005 with 5spd auto)

Brakes are not a good as previous cars from what I am hearing.......

Uh oh, I didn't know that they had transmission problems. That's part of the reason I'm looking to replace my old Taurus. Thanks for the tip though!

they are not nearly as bad as the acura cars but the fact that the 03-04 (or is it 05?) require the same 2nd gear fix, it does not look really promising..........

Hey i have a 2003..not a 2007 but mines seems to run fine, about the 6 disc changer, the quality is not all not i think my coupe came with stock 6x9's but i have after market 15's, which sounds lots better!!!!!!!! I have never expericend transmission problems as stated above, but i ten i only got 35000 miles...and if u do buy a accord i would defilenty recommend the v6, the power compared to the 4 cylinder is super bettter
