Default New member here - Tranny question

Hi everyone,

Proud Honda Accord owner. I bought a used 2001 with 64K miles a year ago. This is the first time I've had an automatic transmission in a while. It shifts fine and doesn't make noise, but I notice when you are coming to a stop, but still going maybe 3 to 5mph, then hit the gas to speed up, there seems to be a delay as if the transmission is trying to catch up or something. I did have the shop replace the tranny oil about 3 months ago but I still notice it happening. It's not a huge problem, just a minor annoyance. The car has 84K on it now and have had no other problems at all.

Thanks!!

it's normal as the car wants to stay in second and when you get on the gas it will go down into first gear.

I would agree with yeu... that's what it sounds like to me as well, as long as it's not making a clunking noise or bouncing the car real hard I wouldn't worry about it... Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new car!
